Originally I installed 2010 with 2007 installed. I got tired of Office starting the install process every time I double-clicked a document, so I uinstalled 2007. Perhaps something in the registry was altered in that process.

I'll try a repair using the Add/Remove Programs control panel. If that doesn't work, then I'll have to uninstall/reinstall 2010. Right? (Thanks for testing.)

Hi
There may be an issue with your Registry. Do you have a product such as "Registry Mechanic" which will clean up your Registry for you. I use it regularly and it certainly helps me. It may also negate you having to remove and re-load Word.
Good luck.
Tony
