Default Word options "field shading" reverts to "when selected"


In 2007, under Word Options / Advanced / Show document content / Field Shading, I select Always so that field values are always shaded, making them easy to find in the documents we share. However, over some indefinite time, the choice reverts to "When selected."

Is there something I'm doing wrong, or something I can do to lock my choice?
