If you press Ctrl-F and type 'Cross' in Word's Navigator pane, you'll find 52 entries listed. A lot of these are for the index fields themselves (identifiable in the navigator pane as 'CrossCross' and, if you then scroll through the document, you'll find them all highlighted. Amongst the highlighted entries are some anomolies you'll want to fix, such as instances of 'aCross'. You'll also find an index entry for 'Cross' in the middle of an indexed entry for 'Cross keys'.
Do the same the 'Book'. I'm not sure which indexed entries you don't want, so I can't tell you which ones to delete.
