paragraph border not visible/printing

I've set a footer style to use a border: Border Top, single solid line, background 1, 0.75 line width

The border definition has "taken", so it's still displayed in the style definition even if I suspiciously close the document and open it again: but I don't see the border on screen, and it doesn't print.

Any ideas?
