Hi All,
I am working on a 500 page doc and have inserted a couple of new screenshots with new figures and captions. I manually updated the the remaining captions in the chapter with new sequential numbers and formatted them as caption headings. Problem: I am unable to cross reference mention of the new Figures in paragraphs with these new captions (and the re-numbered captions) as they are not available in my 'For which numbered item' drop down list which at work does contains all other captions. I guess what Im asking is how do i populate the aforementioned drop down. Help desperately need for work tomorrow. |

When you add a caption to an object that is "floating" so that text wraps around it, Word adds a text box for the caption. Word versions up to and including 2003 can't see captions inside text boxes. You can insert the objects "In line with text," add the caption in an ordinary paragraph, and (if necessary) wrap a frame around the object plus caption.
