Default Auto update footer in Word 2007

Using Word 2007, is there a way to update the filepath in the footer automatically? For example if I create a document from a blank in one folder on a drive and save the document in another folder on the drive, can I get the footer to update automatically as it does in excel?

You can use a FILENAME field in the footer. Updating is as simple as doing a print preview.

If you tick "update fields before Printing" in the Word Options any FILENAME field should update automatically as you print the document. You can see the update on the Draft view if you RMB (Right MouseButton) on the field and select Update Field.

Jim B,
I tried both of these methods and they worked great! Thanks for the help.

Except that you can't see footer content in Draft view
