Has anyone found a safe and effective way to unlock a password-protected Word 2000 file? I tried a couple of online services, wasted a lot of time, and they didn't work (to their credit, they refunded my payments). I have one file that I keep my journal in; I changed the password a couple of months ago to provide better protection, but now can't find where I wrote down the password!

Few, if any, reputable forums will help with password recovery/breaking. At most, some might suggest you try one of the commercial solutions - which you've apparently already dfone without success.
