I am in the middle of creating a new template. What I would like to happen is when the user opens the template which contains alot of the standard text already placed in it, I would like it to bring up a set of box where they can enter client reference number, address etc etc and then when they press OK it populates the necessary fields with the information entered.
Please can someone give me an idea where to start with this? Thank you Toni |

Hi Toni,
The simplest approach is to have formfields at the first of each of the locations where the data are required, and cross-references to the formfield's bookmarks. If the form is to be used by Word 2007 & later users only, you can use content controls instead. For the basics, see: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...005230270.aspx http://www.word-2010.com/create-a-form-in-word/ http://gregmaxey.com/word_tip_pages/...ormfields.html To have something that a user completes all in one place then have that populate the document, requires a vba-driven userform. For the basics, see: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Userforms/CreateAUserForm.htm
