False fonts in word
Dear list,
I am a student doing research in reading. I need to create some false fonts in English and Hindi. The false fonts need to have the same visual complexity as the real letters, but are meaningless. Can anyone tell me whether they can be created in Word 2010? Many thanks, Peter |

If they look like whatever you consider to be a 'real' letter, how can they not have meaning?

You might need to try again, whatever you posted isn't visible.

Thanks Paul. False fonts have the same visual complexity as real letters, but are meaning less. Similar visual complexity means false fonts have the same number of strokes and inflection points as real letters. An example can be seen in this paper http://white.stanford.edu/~brian/pap...ortex-2006.pdf
In our research we are measuring brain response to letters in 3-4 year old children. We need a control stimulus (false fonts) for the comparison purpose. |

You should be able to create a similar effect via the scribble and/or curve autoshapes.
