Bibliography Issue

I have a formatting issue with my references some start with the author then the title others start with the title then authors. Similarly, sometimes Word seems to store the authors with surname first and initial rather than initial then surname.

Is there anything that can be done about this ?

Is there a way of exporting the list into a reference manager and stopping this once and for all because I am getting a number of issues and my PhD thesis will have around 300 references. Short of typing them by hand I am quite worried about it.
