Hi,
I would like to use a word template form or an online form, fill it out and some parts - when they are filled out - get copied to another location in the document, which later can be saved a .doc. Sort of when you book a trip online and your information is transferred from your details to your credit card details - if you check a box, but automatically in this document. Now i have to fill out a top part and copy-paste in a lower part. The size of the document makes it a 45 minute process. I estimate it can be done in less than 15 if properly automated. Also, it would be great to insert a scroll list with options and when one option is chosen, a few lines in the form is filled out automatically. I'm on word 2010. Many thanks in advance |

This depends on whether you are using the new content control fields or are using legacy form fields.
See Repeating Data With legacy form fields you give the field a name which becomes a Word bookmark. You check the option to update on exit. Then elsewhere you put in a reference to the bookmark. With drop down lists, you use IF fields to test for each possibility and then put the appropriate language for each possibility into your form. Please Fill Out This Form - Creating a Form |
