I have typed a letter in word 2010. If I move the cursor down the page, some of the letter seems to be in 'normal' mode and other parts in 'no spacing' mode, although it all looks much the same. If I do select all, and then click on normal, it makes everything so that the type which was previously no spacing is now really spaced out. I can't seem to correct it so that it is all in the same mode. I don't want to type it all out again.

First, turn on display of non-printing formatting characters. That is in he paragraph group on your home tab - top right of the group.
Then in the Styles group click he dialog drop down in the bottom right of that group to display the list of styles. When you click in a paragraph, the style applied to that paragraph. It should be that which controls spacing. See Understanding Styles in Microsoft Word |
