If you have your styles menu opened (along the right-hand side of the screen), click on OPTIONS at the very bottom. A 'Styles Pane Option' menu will open and you can adjust for what styles you want displayed.

Hi Jim - thanks, but that isnt' what I was asking. In Word 2003, say you applied a style called Question Bullet 1 to text. That style is pretty far down the styles list - since it starts with Q. In 2003, before the very first style in your list (that starts with A, for example), a horizontal line would get inserted, and Question Bullet 1 would show up at the beginning of your style list - before the first style (the one that starts with A). This section above the horizontal line would maintain a history of recently used styles. Once you exited the doc, that section would disappear. And start over again the next time you edited the doc and applied styles.
I've attached a screen print from Word 2003 - note the line above the Clear Formatting selection. The three styles shown above it are the recently used styles (that also appear in their correct alphabetical location lower in the styles list). |
