Press Alt-F11 from within Word. This should bring up the vba editor. In Normal's modules do you see a "New Macros" module? This is where recorded macros are stored by default.



As Paul said, you can't have macros in a Normal.dotx file. I don't know how you would even have such a file. Macros need dotm or docm files for storage.
