Two and a half years after this question was posted, I have the same issue. I want "mw" to appear as "MW" in my style sheet for a novel I'm editing. It's a small thing but if I can't get the Auto Format option to work for this, how am I going to get it to work for something else? As the previous poster stated, Plain Text is the only choice; Formatted Text is grayed out so not an option. How do I get Auto Format to give me the option? Word is such a tease!
