When you store the AutoCorrect entry, check the box for "formatted text."



Note this stores the AC entry in normal.dotm rather than in the AutoCorrect (.acl) file. When you quit Word, you should be prompted on whether you want to save changes to the global template. Since you just made such a change, you want to click on "yes."

Note also that AutoCorrect entries are language specific, unlike AutoText.
