Editing hyperlinks
Hi everybody,
I have recently converted a huge amount of my company's documents to .docx from .doc. (Which was done manually, and painful) I have a problem. Many documents contain hyperlinks to other documents which have been converted to .docx, while the hyperlink still uses the document's name + .docx. Is there a way to convert all hyperlinks en masse (either by editing each documents seperately or all the documents altogether) and change them from referencing .doc files to .docx files? Thanks in advance, -Naty |

Hi Naty,
Press Alt-F9 to expose the document's field codes. Every hyperlink will now look something like: {HYPERLINK "C:\\Users\\Username\\Documents\\Some document.doc"} You can now use Find/Replace to change the .doc strings to .docx. Do note that this doesn't change the hyperlink display text. If that's an issue, post back.
