Default Is there a way to multiedit table of contents?

I have a large Word file, it's a book of poetry. Unfortunately, the table of contents was not formatted properly with headers and none of the titles of each poem are linkable/clickable.

I know how to do this manually but it will take an extremely long time.

The names of the poems are already there; is there a way that I can do some sort of multiedit so that Word will find the matching poem title's location and link it together?

Thanks for any help.

Hi DracaDeco,

The only practical way of doing this is to change the Style that each poem's heading is in, to an appropriate Heading Style, so that a proper TOC can be created. Provide the existing table of contents has exactly the same names as the poem headings, you could use Find/Replace, to look for each one and change the Style. Having dome that, you could delete the existing table of contents and insert a Word TOC.

The above process could be automated via a macro, but you'd need to eliminate any page numbers, tabs, etc from the existing table of contents and it could well take longer to develop & test the macro than the manual process I've already outlined.
