I also discovered that if the Cross-reference window is open in Word drag-and-drop is disabled - even if the box is checked under Options. This drove me nuts until I saw Rbooks post on Find and Replace. Thanks for helping me make the connection!

Good point. I believe all "modeless" dialog boxes work that way.
