Hi
I am looking for a way of importing data to a MS Word Form based on the entry in an adjacent cell on the MS Word form. The challenge I have is that I cannot use macros becuase these forms will be integrated into a GP Clinical system and they don't allow macros in MS Word forms. I am looking for an equivalent of VLOOKUP in Excel but in MS Word. If anyone has any suggestions I would be eternally grateful. Kind regards TonyK |

Hi Tony,
Word has no non-macro facility equivalent to VLOOKUP in Excel. If the values are purely numeric, you could use a formula field (even from outside the table); otherwise, if you're using formfields, you could set the input field's 'calculate on exit' and, possibly, use field coding to achieve the desired result. I'm assuming Excel isn't involved, as nothing in the body of your post suggests anything other than Word table cells are involved.

Hi Paul
Many thanks for your response. Unfortunately Excel is involved and there is more text than numbers hence my post. Kind regards Tony |
