Adding references in a Word document now seems very easy. Though I cannot add a numbered reference before one I've already added.
For Example: Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Maecenas porttitor congue massa. (1) With (1) the first reference. Now I write an extra sentence before this one, so this should be (1) and the previous should become (2). For example: Donec hendrerit, felis et imperdiet euismod, purus ipsum pretium metus, in lacinia nulla nisl eget sapien.(1) Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Maecenas porttitor congue massa. (2) Instead, this is the result: Donec hendrerit, felis et imperdiet euismod, purus ipsum pretium metus, in lacinia nulla nisl eget sapien.(1) Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Maecenas porttitor congue massa. (1) Does anyone know how to solve this problem? |

How are you adding these references? If you make use of Word's footnote (or endnote) feature, you get automatic numbering.

As far as I know, you can't control the index numbers on the sources in a bibliography.

Good point. Using third-party software might be the answer. I've never tried Endnote myself, though, so I can't recommend it, nor can I advise against it.

I think that the Endnote should be built in the Word as a main component due to its effeciny to catch refernces automatically from their resources 1. Get your Gogol scholar connected to the Endnote (screenshot 1 and 2) 2. Search any topic in the Google scholar (screenshot 3) 3. Get the reference and the citation of selected source form the Endnote to the word (screenshot 4) The manual word method for citation and references is time consuming and not connected to the Google scholar where they are AUTOMATICALLY CITED and REFERENCED. Hope this useful Regards Jamal |
