Default Bulleted Lists in Notebook Layout

In the Print Layout in Word, if you've pressed "tab" while in a bulleted list and then type something, you just have to press enter/return twice in order to move the bullet back to the left. However, in the Notebook Layout, you have to press enter, the delete twice. Is there any way to make it so you just have to press enter twice? I know this is really nit-picky (and sounds like a first world problem), but I just started using the Notebook Layout, and it'd be really nice if there were a fix for this. Thanks!!
