Have just moved from Word 2000 to Word 2010. THere are some differences.
I could previously create a wide variety of menus and commands in the menu bar; now I struggle with a more confusing and limited, it seems Ribbon. One thing I often used was a link to open a specific Word file. The doc would have to be open at the time; In Customize/All Commands, the Command File(OpenFile) [I think] would select an open file in a drop down; I would simply click and drag the Open(OpenFile) command to my selected menu. I don't find such an ability or hyperlink able to be placed on a Ribbon. I might be able to use a macro but that creates other issues. I'd appreciate any help. |

You can "pin" a document to the Recent list at File tab | Recent; that way, it will never disappear from the list of recent files.

Thanks Stefan. It's a good idea and I'll probably try it for the time being.
Problem is I have many, many docs and about 30 I'd like to find quickly. I think the more I Pin, the harder it will be for me to find them or to find other non-pinned docs I'm just working on just this week. |

Well, in Word 2010, you can pin an entire folder (in the list of recent folders), which might help, if files are carefully organized into (sub)folders, that is.
