You need to use outline numbering styles such as Heading or Level to make this work correctly.
I've played around a bit with your document but cannot make the TOC include the paragraph numbering. I always prefer to use Word's TOC generator then tweak the TOC styles to make it look the way I want.

Thank you for the response, tupham.
What "trigger" mechanisms do you like to use for your TOC's - switches in the TC field with a type name, entry switches - entry identifier, hyperlinks or bookmarks, syles switches in the TOC field, etc. Why - have you found any particular advantage of your method? Thank you Dan
