Why do Word styles sometimes 'forget' the formatting and revert to default. I am currently using Word 2007 with xp, and have experienced this problem in earlier versions as well. The styles retain their name and any text associated with the style remains with the style, the problem is that I often need to place the particular formatting over and over again.

When does this happen? Note that if you "lose" the formatting as you press Enter, the style you are using probably has a different style set as the "Style for following paragraph." Change the setting in the Modify Style dialog box.

After attempting Stefan's recommendation, I still find the font style often reverting to default Times New Roman after I chose other fonts. I am working in Hebrew using David font.
Any other ideas? Last edited by torahwriter; 01-24-2012 at 04:15 AM. Reason: Misspelling |

If you regularly switch between fonts, consider creating different paragraph (or character) styles for those different font choices.

I do assign a specific font per style.
