Sorry, I'm not aware of anything that lets you save from 2003 to the native 6.0/7.0 .doc format. I do use the RTF semi-regularly to go between Word 6.0 and Word 2003. It isn't perfect, but it does get the job done. What is your reason for wanting to save in the older format if you don't mind me asking?
