The correct way to go about creating a new document is to go to File|New|'My Templates' and choose the appropriate template. One hardly needs to be IT savvy to remember that. Having another layer over that to present the users with the same choice isn't going to be an improvement, IMHO. Of course, in a corporate environment, you might want to modify the Word installation so that the plethora of templates available from Office.com aren't visible when you go to File|New.
