![]() Macro did not positively identify offending character (actually in footnote below the one I had deleted previously based on Find graphics function) but the increased spacing as per your comments caught my eye. Unable to delete the 'space' so cut & pasted footnote to Notepad and back into doc again and problem fixed! The offending character was in text copied from a website years ago. Thanks! |

The macro doesn't try to 'identify' anything - it simply makes potential problem shapes easier for you to identify, which is what I gather it achieved.
