Hi pam,

Without access to Visio, you're limited to exporting the files as images a lower-resolution format, then re-importing them into the document. the simplest way to do the export is to save the document in html format via File|Save As. Before saving, click on File|Save As > Tools > Web Options > Pictures and choose a high-resolution screen format. This is so that the re-inserted images will have sufficient resolution for printing. You may even find it necessary to temporarily increase the image sizes in Word beforehand. When saving to the html format, Word will create a new folder with the document name. That folder will hold the exported images. After the html conversion, close the file and re-open the original document. You can then use Insert|Picture to re-insert the images. Once you've scaled them to the same size as the originals, you can delete the old Visio images. The saved document should then end up somewhat smaller than the original.
