when open doc formatting all over the place

I have written a report on microsoft word 2007 and have created a box down the bottom of the report. Within this box I have used the tab button to neatly space information so that the document looks neat and clean. However I have sent the document to my teacher who has complained that when the document is opened the formatting is all gone and the information in the box is all over the place.



How do I fix this?

Hi Anne,

In that case, you've either sent an unformatted copy, or your teacher has done something that causes the formatting not to show. For example, if you saved the document as a text file, all formatting would be lost. Similarly, if the teacher opened a formatted document in draft view, the formatting wouldn't all be apparent.
