Default Would like a macro to hide the document

I'm hoping to find a macro that will quickly hide the current document.

Something I can pull up with a short cut key that will clear the display (or display some possible innocuous text) and then resume the old document when enter or escape is pressed.

I'm wanting to quickly hide sensitive information from prying eyes.

I tried just opening a new document, but any type of opening (or even minimizing) is quite obvious.

Anyone have anything, or any ideas?

Thanks
-Paul

So just have another document open and press Ctrl-F6. Simple as. No code required.

Or just press the "-" button in the upper-right corner of the open doc window to minimize the window. I'm sure you know this! Besides, you can press Alt+Esc to put the active doc window behind all other open windows. If you want to bring the hidden window back, press Alt+Tab. Convenient because you can do it with your thumb and any finger of your left hand.

But, as the OP said:

Thanks for the ideas.

Ctrl-F6 does work, with just a couple of caveats:
  • I have to remember to keep a second document open in the background.
  • The currently displayed ribbon is document specific, so if the documents are on different ribbons the switch becomes quite obvious.

Another option would be to fit a privacy filter over your existing screen. You can find them on ebay, for example: eBay
