Valid URLs don't have spaces in them (a space would appear in a valid URL as %20).



Word has an Autoformat command that converts URLs. To find it, add the command called Autoformat... to your Quick Access Toolbar. Clicking this button opens a dialog titled Autoformat and you can then click on the Options button and ensure there is a tick next to 'Internet and network paths with hyperlinks". Click OK (twice) to convert the URL text to hyperlinks
