IMHO, Macropod's post was aimed at a different requirement to what you describe.

I think you should be looking to store each role's info in a Building Block with the name of the role. And then create a Building Block Content Control to enable you to choose which one you want. If you've never used this type of CC before it can be useful to start by watching some youtube instructional videos.
