Please pay attention to what I posted. I did not suggest you saved the document as a template; I suggested the macro might be in the document's template and not in the document itself. There's a world of difference between a document and a template and you should take time to learn how documents relate to templates.
Every document is based on a template. Macros in a template are available to any document based on that template regardless of the save format - provided they can access the template. Your statement confirms that you had added the code to the document's template and not to the document itself.
