To do this and have the images in the Word document implies putting them in IF fields that can be used to test whether the image should be displayed. The simplest approach, which requires no macro coding, would be to use dropdown formfields to choose whether to display a given image. See attached. To see the field coding used for this, switch of the 'filling in forms' protection and press Alt-F9.
