Can you paste your version of this assignment here so I can take a quick look at it.

This means it found a reference that doesn't match the rules. When this occurs the macro should stop leaving text in the document selected. You need to look at the selected text to see what the problem is and correct it.

But if you can wait until later today I'll revise the code so it just highlights non conforming references.
