Yes but we need to know what styles would be considered to be in the same list. Eg if I have paragraphs like this:
1. List Paragraph
1.1 List Paragraph 2
List Continue
Picture
2. List Paragraph - is this a new list or a continuation of the previous list.

You would be better advised to handle this WITHOUT macros by setting up your styles in a particular way. For instance, if the outline list effectively has a reset style linked to level one and then all the outline numbered styles start at level two then you just need to ensure that the level one style makes at least one appearance between each separate list.
