It is always better to start a new thread than to latch on to someone else's thread.
From your description, what you require here is a list box content control inserted into the cell. You may find Insert Content Control Add-In useful.
A userform that writes a value to a cell is possible, but then there is an additional problem of how to activate it - especially for re-editing it.
