Hi
Thank you, i have managed to create the links that i need. Only one problem i now have is when i restrict the editing i am unable to edit any of the rest of the form.

I need to be able to change other parts of form which do not have these dropdowns in. can anyone help?

Thanks

Content controls do not require the document to be protected.
i may be doing something wrong but if i dont do this then the dropdowns dont work.

What do i need to do?
That suggests you're using formfields, per an example from Graham's link. If you had used content controls, this wouldn't be an issue.
