Hi all,
I'm needing to show/hide specific sections of text at a time in a word document so used the guide below. Firstly its not very efficient as a separate macro and code block is needed for each show/hide. Secondly is it possible to change the symbol when the text is expanded. e.g At the moment I just double click a '+' to show and hide and wondering if it could change to '-' when expanded? http://www.wikihow.com/Expand-and-Co...Microsoft-Word If there are other ways that can achieve the same hide and show on a text selection (without showing or hiding all blocks of text at a time) without enabling macros that would be great as I understand there are security issues? Initially it will remain on the local LAN but may need to go to a 3rd party at some point and I'm just wondering about the security implications. (Its a sensitive document and security is very important) Thanks for any info Ian |

You cannot run macros without having them enabled. There are, of course, different levels of macro security and you can combine that with the use (or not) of trusted locations. You mention the document going to 3rd parties. You would be ill-advised to send documents with macros to 3rd parties - their security protocols may not permit them to be downloaded or the macros to be run. Furthermore, for obvious reasons, your document can't override their macro security settings.
