Default Merge file into email

Hi,

I'm not sure this can be done but thought someone might be able to point me in the right direction. I am not good with VBA etc.

I have a folder with 1000 files in it, each with a persons name at the beginning of the filename. Thes files are then emailed to the person it belongs to.

Is there anyway that I can do like a mail merge and setup something that will open an email and automatically attach the files for a particular person and send it to them.

There has to be a whizz out there that can help me, I have 10,000 reports to email out and it is taking me forever.

thanks in advance
Mel

That may be possible, but:
1. you say each file has "a persons name at the beginning of the filename". How does one differentiate between the person's name and the rest of the filename; and
2. once the names are extracted, how would these be matched with destination email addresses?

You also refer to "a folder with 1000 files in it" but then to "I have 10,000 reports to email out". Does this mean there are multiple reports for each person? If so, is each report a separate file, do multiple people receive the same reports, does each file contain multiple reports? Something else?
