Form searching around it looks like the DAO approach isn't supported for the xml format used by Office 2007 & later. Accordingly, you'll need to use one of the newer methods.

Thanks so much. Maybe a "Works with file versions < 12 only" hint would be usefull on the above mentioned site?

Will use ADO instead - and change my macros using DAO .
