Hi. When I went to paste special up to now, I got a lot of radio buttons to make a choice. The problem I always have had with this is they should be tick boxes not radio buttons so I could paste formating as well as columb widths.
Now paste special brings up a diffrent window (Attached). What I want to do in this, is to paste the formatting which is in a table. That includes the font, font colour and the background colour of the cells in the table (Attached also). Thanks for your help. |

Both methods should work when setting borders (and shading). You can right-click a selected cell range, choose Table Properties and then click Borders and Shading on the Table tab of the dialog box.
Alternatively, you can use the Border drop down on the Table Layout tab on the ribbon and choose Borders and Shading.

No that is not what I am trying to do. I want to copy the contents of a spread sheet to another spred sheet. I need paste special. I need to copy everything including, font size, colour cell background. The lot. Why does paste special not show the 2 columbs of radio buttons any more.
I would like to to see check boxes in paste special not radio buttons but Bill Gates didn't think of that one HA! |

I am not sure what you are trying to do. You posted in the Word forum and now you mention spreadsheets? Are you actually using Excel? Or maybe you have embedded an Excel object into your Word document?

No. I have a word document with data in a table. I have a template with a blank table. I create a copy of the blank and rename it. I copy and paste the contents of one table into another. In my post, I have cells that are coloured Grey, Blue and red. I want a paste specila that copy not only the calender dates and fonts, but the cell colours as well.
I had a paste special that had radio buttons. Problem has always been that I could only paste with one of the options. Tick boxes would have been better. How do I copy the entire contents of a table in one word document to another table in anotherr word document? |

Presumably you mean this screen:
which is for Excel, not Word

Ok. The post was similar that is why I did this. But the problem still remains. How do I copy a table and keep ALL formatting in it? I can copy the entire table whch does work.

![]() Quote:
Or you can make a screen shot of the original table and paste it in the new location (if a static copy is OK).
