This is not something I recommend but there is a setting to vertically justify the content. In the Page Setup dialog, go to the Layout tab and set the Vertical Alignment to 'Justified'

Hi Guessed. Thanks for your reply. I think I may have failed to make myself clear, as you will perhaps agree if you read my reply to macropod, which I hope has clarified my question. I suspect that what I am asking cannot be done, but I am not sure. But if that's the case, my best bet would be to edit the first page in order to remove enough text for the table to fit. Thanks again..
