I have created a large fillable form in Microsoft Word for MAC 2011. It is primarily a series of small tables where I have a cell with a question in it next to an empty cell where people can type their answer. This goes on for 15 pages. I did not use the developer feature for forms because I did not like the look of the form and I can't get the check boxes to work.
I tried to protect the document so no one can change the questions or instructions, but protecting the document prevents entry of the answers in the empty cells. I also tried protecting it through the developer feature, but it protects an entire row in the table, which again, prevents entry of answers into the empty cells. Am I trying to do the impossible or can I protect certain cells without locking everything! Thank you, Kim |

You cannot use 'filling in forms' protection and have anything in the tables fillable unless you use formfields for the data entry in those cells. Conversely, formfields don't work without the 'filling in forms' protection (which might explain why you couldn't get the checkboxes to work).
