Multiple Row Headings and Last Column Alignment
Word 2010 I quite frequently use multiple row table headings that I want repeated on subsequent pages. Word "remembers" that there should be multiple heading rows while the file is open. After the file is saved and closed Word remembers that only the first row is to be repeated. I've tried merging the cells and deleting the cell border to create a faux "merged cell", but nothing seems to work. Is there a way to resolve this? Also, I've created a table style and am having problems determining what is causing the misalignment of the information in the last column. Regardless of the addition or deletion of columns, the problem is always with the last column. I've tried everything I know to check (modifing style last column, cell spacing, paragraph spacing, line spacing, etc.), and have not had any luck. Any ideas? For reference I've attached a file that contains the tables. Thanks for any assistance anyone can offer! |

Jim,
Thanks for the attempt, but that did not work. All of the second row is no longer a heading row - not formatted nor does it repeat on the second page. This is the source of my problem! When the file is re-opened, the table headings revert to a 1 row heading. |

Okay, I don't know what caused that to happen but, I recreated the table (minus the text) and saved it to my drive. Closed it out...reopened....All heading lines repeated show up on each page. Repeated several times wtih the same result. However, I am still stumbled as to why your table acted the way it did...

Jim,
Thanks for the help! I too was able to recreate a 2-row heading that worked. After testing my document further, it seems that the table style that I created and used to format the tables in this document is causing both problems I described in my initial post. Any ideas on how to address the table style? |
