I have a table (in a doc that I think came from an old 2003 doc) where when I try to drag to shrink the column widths, the whole table width is increased, so that the table right edge falls outside the page.

I cannot understand this behavior. Is it as it should be?

This behavior makes working with the table totally impossible.
