exact measurements for tables

I want to create a table (a calender) that will print out as exact number of inches, how can I specify how large I want the content of my document to be?

Is there a way to size the entire document for exactly 5x6.5 inches and then everything within the document will be within the desired size of paper?

I also want to attach a small square to the corner of each cell, how do I get the square to be applied directly at the top right side of each cell?
