Of course, any copy of Win XP you buy second-hand will already have used at least one (and possibly all) of its permitted installs ...

Personally, I'd steer clear of Office XP/2002. It was a dog of a product compared to Office 2003 - even Office 2000 is considered a better product by many, but you can't get the Office 2000 SR1 update anymore and that's essential before upgrading to SP2/SP3.
