How to Reduce the File Size?

Is there some general rule or some tips and tricks for keeping the Publisher file size not so big?

You know, I've just started creating an illustrated reference catalog with a lot of images and on the fourth page my file is 2MB already. The catalog will probably reach 100+ pages.
